I am very lucky to photograph a tiny percentage of some of the wonderful homes in Oakland, San Francisco, and the Bay Area.
While visually exploring these homes, I am amazed at the nooks that the owners carve for themselves for sitting, thinking, meditating, for glasses of wine, for holding hands, watching the sunset ooze below the horizon, or for whatever reason.
This particular outdoor sitting bench caught my visual attention. It was nestled within a lovely garden, and had the stone retaining wall behind it to insulate it from any street noise. The bench was well-positioned to face the setting sun.
It seemed a lovely place to contemplate life, or simply enjoy the silence.
